Business Rules allow you to influence how your products are shown to your shoppers when they search. By adding rules, you can alter the priority of how results are shown based on different values of different fields in your catalogue. This page provides an introduction
Viewing the Business Rules page
You can access the Business Rules page from the the sidebar in the rocket icon. Once you enter for the first time, you'll see a blank list of rules.
In order to create the first rule, follow these steps:
- Click the Add rule button.
- Follow the steps to add a new rule.
Once you enter the Business Rules page after having created some, you will see the list of all the rules you've created:
From the List view, you can also navigate your rules by using the language drop-down menu to select the language you want to view. This is the information you can see in the list view:
- Action: It can be either Boost (so results appear higher up in search results) or Bury (so results appear lower down in results)
- Field: The type of field you want to create a rule for, it can be Category, Brand and Product ID.
- Value: The attributes of that field that you want to apply an action to.
- Searches: The specific search terms to which the rules apply.
- Updated: The creation status of that rule.
Rules can be edited and deleted by hovering over the list item you want to alter.
